Hi, I’m Dr. Sarah Hennessey (TCM), and I’m very glad to see that you’re looking for ways to improve your health and happiness.

This is exactly what I am here to help you with!

I help exhausted, stressed out women find wellness and joy in their lives. Too many women are feeling depleted, anxious, and doubting of their self worth. I’m here to help you navigate your way back to feeling strong, healthy, and happy.

My area of interest is in the transitional phases of women’s lives which often involve complex hormonal changes – fertility, pregnancy, postnatal, and peri-menopausal.

This can also include gynecological diagnoses such as endometriosis,  PCOS, and dysmenorrhea.

Many of these conditions and concerns are often accompanied by stress, poor sleep, intense emotions, low energy, low sex drive, and feelings of being misunderstood.

This can be especially true for postnatal women. ‘Postnatal women’ includes any woman who has ever conceived, regardless of the outcome of the pregnancy.
It includes women whose children have grown.

Women are given so much information on how to take care of their babies, but not given enough support in taking care of themselves. The result is a lot of women struggling through life feeling exhausted, anxious, emotionally drained, and unhappy.

Yet they continue to push forward, further depleting themselves, and can sometimes carry the heavy burden of resentment and guilt.

It doesn’t have to be this way.
I am here to offer my services coming from a place as a health practitioner, as a healer, as a mother, and as a person who just wants to make the world a little brighter for everyone I meet.

When I began my clinical practice in women’s health, it was clear that there was a huge gap in individualized and effective care for these transitional phases.
Sure, there are some great resources out there, but there are very few clinics that offer dedicated, patient-centered natural healthcare with these transitions in mind.

It wasn’t until I conquered my own experience with a challenging labour, birth, and postnatal journey, that it was obvious this is where I’m meant to be – helping struggling women to find total wellness, in body and mind.

I’m also “That Sleep Girl,” because I know that every aspect of your health and wellness can be affected by poor sleep. I have the passion and the skills to help you reach deep levels of relaxation and quality sleep, so that you can recover, restore, and reignite your dynamic self.

What I do

I provide each treatment by looking through a holistic lens. What this means is, In addition to all of the structures and systems that make up the physical body, I pay special attention to all aspects of life, such as mental and emotional health, nutrition, and daily habits.

While I have special interests in postnatal and women’s health, my experience is broad and also includes men’s health, geriatrics, digestion, sleep, and injury/pain management.

I have a background in Western bio-medicine, psychology, and traditional Chinese medicine, so I am able to look at your concerns through multiple lenses. Ultimately, your health and well-being are my priority.

I have led Qi Gong sessions at Clayton Aquatics Centre in the past, and co-run the Menomorphosis (menopause) workshops in the greater Melbourne area.

I believe that we are stronger than we give ourselves credit for, and that when we open our hearts to all that is possible, incredible things are bound to happen.
