Your herbal consultation begins with a in-depth conversation about your concerns and health history to determine the best course of treatment. This consult can be provided online or in person at the clinic.
During your consult, you will be assessed for the most appropriate form of herbal medicine for you, as well as supplement, diet, and lifestyle advice, as appropriate.
You will be provided with clear dosage instructions and information about what you can expect from your herbal formula and/or supplements. You will also have a brief follow up consult scheduled, to assess progress and any changes that may need to be made to your treatment plan.
Options for herbal formulas include:
Capsules are the most convenient form of herbal medicine, and many patients choose them as a first introduction to taking herbs. While only the best quality herbal formula capsules are provided at South East Natural Health, one drawback is that capsule formulas cannot be customized. You will be provided with the formula that most closely suits your needs.
Granules can easily be mixed into hot water and consumed as a tea, and are a popular choice for their convenience and ability to be customized. Granules are the most recommended form of herbs at South East Natural Health.
Whole herbs are the most potent form of herbal medicine, however, they do require a cooking process. These formulas are best suited for severe cases or where the patient is already familiar with herbal medicine.
I dedicated eight years to earning my Bachelor’s degree in Health Science and my Master’s degree in Acupuncture and Herbal Medicine. I am constantly undertaking continuing education in my field.
I am also registered with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) as a qualified acupuncturist, herbalist, and herbal dispenser.
Australia has some of the highest standards of herbal medicine manufacturing, under what is called “Good Manufacturing Practice” (GMP).
This means that most herbal medicines in Australia are held to strict standards of quality and safety, set by the TGA.
I source all of my herbs and herbal products only from reputable companies.
Like almost all qualified herbalists in Australia, I conduct my clinical practice with ethical considerations for both my patients and the planet.
While some endangered and unethically sourced substances have been traditionally used in Chinese herbal medicine, you will never find these products in my clinic.
Ever.
