Sarah's Story

Sarah earned her Bachelor’s degree in Health Science with a minor in Psychology at Portland State University in Portland, Oregon, USA.

Dissatisfied with the current medical paradigm after dealing with her own struggles with stress, insomnia, and hormonal imbalance, she furthered her studies with a Master’s degree in Acupuncture and Chinese medicine – a rigorous four-year program at the Oregon College of Oriental Medicine (Portland Oregon, USA) widely accepted as the top university for Chinese medicine studies in the United States.

There, she studied Traditional Chinese Medicine, auricular and facial acupuncture, NADA protocol, electrostimulation, Shiatsu and Tui Na massage, cupping, Gua Sha, and Chinese herbal medicine.

In 2014, she set her roots into research when her case study was selected for publication in the Australian Journal of Acupuncture and Chinese Medicine (AJACM). However, her love of clinical practice and healing has taken precedence over her academic ventures for the time being and she currently runs her own private practice at South East Natural Health in Carnegie, VIC.

Since moving to Australia in 2015, Sarah has worked alongside some of the top practitioners in the women’s natural health industry.

She often sees patients who are struggling with

  • Irregular periods
  • Endometriosis
  • PCOS
  • Fertility concerns
  • IVF/IUI
  • Peri-menopausal symptoms
  • Stress
  • Anxiety
  • Poor sleep.

She views the body through a combined model of traditional and modern medicine to provide appropriate treatments that work from a holistic perspective. Mind-body balance, along with basic physiological functions such as digestion, sleep, and diet are at the heart of her practice. She has special interests in the roles that that the endocrine system and autonomic nervous system play on hormonal balance, mental wellness, and quality of life.

Sarah takes great joy in helping her patients to understand and appreciate their bodies, and to break through the stigma of women’s health conditions and natural stages of life.
